DRY Western Kansas

Driving North and just West of Medicine Lodge, out in Barber County. THIS is the kind of country you would expect. The 103 degree temps just added to that arid desert feeling.

Not a whole lot to say, but this was quite beautiful. I DID mention to my brother that I could imagine how this landscape could feel overwhelming, especially in the 1800’s. At least we knew that there was civilization once we got back to the highway. And even WE could easily feel like we were the only people out there.

Late in the afternoon, when we finally saw another vehicle out there, we laughed and said “Traffic!”
